November 2023
The Board of Trustees of the Gowanda Pine Hill Cemetery would like to announce an operational change. Frank Howard, sexton, is reducing his workload after 64 years of exceptional employment. Frank will continue to be our contact person and lay out our graves. He will, however, no longer be responsible for maintaining the grounds. We are pleased that Frank, who is irreplaceable, will continue to work in the cemetery in this reduced capacity. We will remain forever grateful to him for his devotion, remarkable dedication and care in maintaining Gowanda Pine Hill Cemetery in its exemplary condition.
In a corresponding move, the Board of Trustees is pleased and excited to announce the following two new hires. Scott Tadt will serve as the principal sexton and Timothy Jumper as assistant sexton. Both men are residents of Collins. Over time Scott will learn the full duties of sexton from Frank and eventually transition to performing all those tasks. Both men work as grounds keepers for the Gowanda Public Schools and come with impeccable credentials, specific skill sets, and work ethics. Welcome Scott and Tim!
